WHAT IS LIFE -- A DILEMMA OR A REAR VIEW MIRROR ?
"Meri kismat hi kharab hai yaar… sab galat hi
hota hai life me…"
Does it sound like you? If yes, then read on. I am going to discuss something really astounding today.
The thing that urged me to write this article was this… The other day, as usual while having a discussion with one of my friends I came up with a question that was bothering me since long (I love discussing various philosophies about life with my parents and at times, even have some fun banter like besties!)
I always wondered why, even after greasing elbows, do things go pear-shaped for some people, while for the others opportunities come so effortlessly? Conforming to this, my friend shared a very interesting experience that happened in his office.
One fine day, a man visited my friend’s office, who wished to transfer his stock trading account to our branch, as it was nearest to his home and convenient too. Well, for any other stock broker, this would be a golden opportunity, never to miss. However, not for my friend! He right away refused to do so. It was such a simple task… the guy only had to fill up a small form and his account would be transferred right away. So, what made him to deliberately miss such an opportunity? I wondered…
But, the story has a twist! My Friend was not the only one who refused to do his work. That fellow visited every other broker’s branch close to his home, but only in vain. Why even after going through the mill at all the places, he is unable to get a simple job done? The day when he visited my friend’s office, he had a huge list of questions to ask, with a criticism all set after receiving every answer. Providing a solution was out of the question, as it all fell on deaf ears. All one could see is, he carrying a huge boulder over his head, and getting on the nerves of the people whom he interacts with! I bet no one would like to have a customer who would crib all the time…
Though the story sounds simple, there is more to it, than what meets your eyes. Let me take you a bit off the track to comprehend this… I’ll come back to this story soon (I promise!)
We have to understand the energy dynamics that plays a very vital role to create the world that we live in. Unbelievably, the world outside that we see is created by us; by our own thoughts!
According to quantum physics, we all are nothing but a form of energy. The kind of energy we release through our thoughts in the field surrounding us determines what kind of people and things we would attract.
Let me make it very simple for you. Take an example of a radio station. Have you ever wondered from where does the music come in your radio? It is through radio waves. We are all surrounded with radio waves, gamma waves, theta waves…and so on. We hear the sound only when we tune to the right frequency.
Likewise, our thought waves send out signals which tune to either positive or negative frequencies already present in our field. So, when we believe and send out a signal saying ‘things never work out for me’, or crib saying ‘meri kismat hi kharab hai’ we inadvertently tune to negative frequencies of unwanted people, things and circumstances.
Remember the first day of your school or college? Within a few days you had a group of friends, hadn’t you? Did you go about asking every classmate about their likes or dislikes to find the right group of friends? No. Then how, in such a short time, did you find a group that completely resonates with you? Not only you, but everyone in your class within a day or two had their own groups. May it be the back-benchers, studious first benchers or a group of average students, they all huddled together like magnets! Do you know why?
Your thoughts shape your reality. Think about a hen, when
she lays an egg- she has a brain the size of a pea still she relies on faith
that a life will come out of that egg if she sits upon it and provides warmth
to it.
It is very simple. They attracted people that resonated with their frequencies!
What you think right at this moment in your inside world, will directly be reflected in your outside world. Whatever signals you send out will attract similar kind of people in your life.
That is why I say, ‘Your outside world is the mirror reflection of your inside world.’
Simply study the people around you. You will always find that the world around a distressful person is always full of sufferings while on the other hand a cheerful and optimistic person is always surrounded with best people with greater opportunities.
So, what do you choose your thoughts to be right at this moment? How is your thought pattern? Are you thinking about what went wrong with your life or what is going right in your life? Whatever thought signal you send out, the universe will automatically adjust to give you similar life experiences.
As promised, I come back to the story… Now, can you relate to what was happening with the poor fellow. His world inside that was full of complaints, criticisms, and negative thought patterns, simply resonated with negative energies outside, thus, inviting noncompliance from everyone he met. How do you expect the lives of such people to be easy?
The world outside subconsciously starts mirroring what is going in your world inside. If you think the person is going to make a fool out of you, he will! If you think the person is going to cheat you, he will… because every time you think the person is going to cheat, you subconsciously send out a signal to the universe and it obeys!
So, the only way to get out of this vicious circle is to ‘Change your thought pattern’. We always expect the world to change. ‘He/She is the only reason I am going through this…How I wish I could just chuck him/her out of my life!’ or we go to an extent saying ‘kash…kash ek khoon maaf ho jaye…meri zindagi badal jaye!’
This is because, we believe that ‘if the world outside changes, only then my circumstances will change’. With this in mind, we struggle to change people, with the hope that our circumstances will change. But, in these endeavours we often drain out our energies, which otherwise could be utilised in changing our thought patterns – the world inside us – the only way to change the world outside.
So, simply “Change the world inside you, and the world outside will automatically change.”

‘The only thing in
this whole world that you can change is - “YOU YOURSELF”.’
Like the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi mused "Be the change that you wish to see in the world."
